Russia removes Roblox from the banned list

Russian authorities have removed the American gaming platform Roblox from their blocklist after the company committed to enhancing protections for young users and complying with Russian law. The move follows an initial ban by regulatory bodies in early December, which cited concerns over the spread of extremist content and material related to sexual minorities through the platform.

Venäjän viranomaiset ovat poistaneet amerikkalainen Roblox-pelialustan kieltolistalta, kertoi Interfax keskiviikkona.

Digitaalisen kehityksen ministeriö ilmoitti tiistaina pyytäneensä valvontaviranomaisia tukemaan rajoitusten poistamista sen jälkeen, kun yhtiö lupasi vahvistaa nuorten käyttäjien suojaa ja noudattaa Venäjän lakia.

Valvontaviranomainen esti pelialustan käytön joulukuun alussa ja väitti lännen levittävän pelialustalla terroristista materiaalia sekä seksuaali- ja sukupuolivähemmistöjä koskevaa aineistoa. Venäläisvirasto väitti tuolloin , että yhtiö ilmoitti oma-aloitteisesti valmiudestaan saattaa pelialustan toiminta Venäjän lainsäädännön vaatimusten mukaiseksi.
