Plane crashes on Texas highway, drivers forced to intervene to save passengers

A private jet crashed onto a highway in Laredo, Texas, on June 16, resulting in one death. Six people were on board, with one fatality reported. The pilot attempted an emergency landing due to a mechanical failure and fuel shortage. The aircraft had been traveling from Mexico and was heading to Austin. Witnesses and drivers stopped to assist passengers still inside the plane. No injuries were reported among the drivers on the Loop 20 highway.

Un jet d’affaires s’est  écrasé  sur une autoroute à Laredo au  Texas  et a pris feu mardi soir, provoquant le chaos alors que les gens sortaient de leurs véhicules pour tenter de briser la vitre du cockpit et de libérer les personnes à l’intérieur.

La police indique que six personnes se trouvaient à bord et qu’une d’entre elles a trouvé la mort. Le pilote aurait tenté un atterrissage d’urgence, à la suite d’une panne mécanique.

Sur les images, on peut voir l’avion couché sur le flanc, écrasé contre une barrière de sécurité autoroutière, alors que le pilote essaie de briser la vitre de son cockpit, avant d’être aidé par des automobilistes.

Une panne et un manque de carburant responsables du crash

L’avion venait du  Mexique  et devait se poser à Austin, au Texas. Il aurait subi soudainement une panne mécanique et un manque de carburant, affirment les autorités.

Aucun blessé n’a été signalé parmi les automobilistes circulant sur l’autoroute Loop 20.
