This morning, Donald Trump posted on his social media platform, Truth Social, saying: “The Deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete. Congratulations to all!” before presumably retreating to deal with preparations for the UFC fights he had organised at the White House for his 80th birthday.

The deal, confirmed by Pakistan’s prime minister and eventually also by Iran, includes an ending of operations in Lebanon, though Israel’s continuing attacks on the country earlier in the day complicated matters.
