Към настоящия момент в Минно-геоложкия университет (МГУ) „Св. Иван Рилски“ се обучават 15 чуждестранни студенти, от които трима са граждани на държави членки на Европейския съюз, съобщиха за БТА от висшето училище.
Чуждестранните студенти в МГУ са от общо десет държави, разположени на три континента - Европа, Азия и Африка.
В Минно-геоложкия университет „Св. Иван Рилски“ чуждестранните студенти се обучават в следните професионални направления и специалности: професионално направление 4.4. „Науки за Земята“ - специалности „Проучвателна геофизика“, „Приложна геофизика“, „Геология и геоинформатика“ и „Екология и опазване на околната среда“; професионално направление 5.8. „Проучване, добив и обработка на полезни изкопаеми“ - специалности „Геология и проучване на минерални и енергийни ресурси“, „Открито разработване на полезни изкопаеми“, „Сондиране, добив и транспорт на нефт и газ“ и „Разработване на полезни изкопаеми“; професионално направление 5.13. „Общо инженерство“ - специалности „Управление на ресурси и производствени системи“ и „Компютърни технологии в инженерната дейност“.
Към настоящия момент не се наблюдава ясно изразено предпочитание към определени специалности от страна на чуждестранните студенти, тъй като те са разпределени сравнително равномерно между различни професионални направления и специалности.
През последните години се наблюдава тенденция към увеличаване на броя на чуждестранните студенти, обучаващи се в Минно-геоложкия университет „Св. Иван Рилски“.
Интересът на чуждестранните студенти към Минно-геоложки университет „Св. Иван Рилски“ не се дължи единствено на достъпните такси за обучение. Съществено предимство е и предлагането на високоспециализирани, а в някои случаи и уникални за България образователни програми в областта на науките за Земята, минното дело, геофизиката, нефтения и газовия сектор, които подготвят специалисти, търсени и успешно реализиращи се в добивната индустрия по целия свят, поясниха за БТА от висшето училище.
