Българската националка за "Били Джийн Кинг Къп" Елизара Янева влезе в квалификациите на Откритото първенство на Великобритания по тенис, съобщиха организаторите на официалния сайт на турнира от Големия шлем.
Така 19-годишната Янева ще направи дебют на "Уимбълдън" при жените, като тя ще се присъедини в пресявките на надпреварата на трева в Лондон към първата ракета на страната Виктория Томова.
Това ще бъде второ поредно участие на българската тийндейджърка в състезание от Шлема, след като преди месец тя игра за първи път и в квалификациите на "Ролан Гарос" в Париж.
Янева в момента заема 229-а позиция в световната ранглиста, но след силното си представяне на състезанието от сериите "УТА 125" в Бреша през тази седмица, където утре ще играе на полуфиналите, тя си гарантира рекордно класиране с място съвсем близо до първите 200, в които ще влезе при нов успех на италианска земя.
Опитната 31-годишна Томова, която е 167-а в класацията на УТА, има пет участия в основната схема на "Уимбълдън", като четири пъти достигна до втория кръг през 2018, 2022, 2023 и 2025 година.
Националът на България за Купа "Дейвис" Александър Донски все още очаква дали ще влезе в схемата на Откритото първенство по тенис на Великобритания при мъжките двойки. Донски, който е 98-и в ранглистата на АТП при дуетите, е заявил участие с индиеца Сидхант Бантия, но те на този етап са в списъка с чакащите.
В турнира на сингъл при мъжете с "уайлд кард" ще се включи най-добрият български тенисист Григор Димитров.
Квалификациите на Откритото първенство на Великобритания ще се играят от 22 до 25 юни, а срещите от основната схема започват на 29 юни.
