This year's excavations at a late antique and medieval fortress near the village of Khrazhovo, Krumovgrad, have concluded. The research focused on three sectors including the northern fortress wall, a necropolis in the western part of the fortress, and an internal moat protecting two towers. The findings expand the history of the fortress, particularly during the Middle Byzantine period, with artifacts suggesting the fortress was attacked and burned between 1360 and 1370 by Ottoman Turks.
