Хрватскиот репрезентативец Јошко Гвардиол одлучи да ја отфрли понудата на Реал Мадрид и да остане во Манчестер Сити.
Гвардиол беше голема желба на Жозе Мурињо. Сепак, 24-годишниот Хрват рече „не“ на понудата од Мадрид и останува лојален на „Граѓаните“.

По нерешениот резултат против Холандија (2:2) во Далас, илјадници јапонски навивачи не го напуштија веднаш стадионот по завршувањето на натпреварот. Наместо тоа, тие останаа на трибините за да го исчистат просторот каде што го гледаа натпреварот. Глетката на јапонските навивачи со сини кеси за ѓубре стана една од најубавите слики од Светското првенство досега.
