Serbia and MOL reached a compromise, the country gains greater influence in the NIS

The Serbian Minister of Mining and Energy, Dubravka Đedović Handanović, announced that Serbia and the Hungarian oil company MOL have reached a compromise regarding the shareholder agreement between Serbia and MOL. Key points include Serbia acquiring an additional 5% stake in NIS if Gazpromneft sells its 56.15% share to MOL, provided the transaction is approved by the U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). Additionally, MOL has committed to maintaining the production capacity of the Pančevo Refinery at least at the level it achieved in the four years before U.S. sanctions were imposed.

SRBIJA i mađarska naftna kompanija MOL postigle su kompromis i riješile sva otvorena pitanja vezana uz dioničarski ugovor za Naftnu industriju Srbije (NIS).

Serbia and MOL reached an agreement on NIS

Serbia and Hungary's oil company MOL have reached an agreement regarding the ownership structure of Naftna Industria Srbije (NIS). The deal includes potential increases in Serbia's shareholding, guarantees for the continued operation of the Pančevo Refinery, and greater authority for Serbian representatives on NIS's board. One key point involves the possible sale of Gazpromneft's stake in NIS, which could allow Serbia to purchase additional shares if approved by the US Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).

Bias read (Center): The article presents the facts of the agreement between Serbia and MOL without overtly favoring either side. It outlines the terms of the deal neutrally, including both Serbian and Hungarian commitments, and does not employ biased language or selectively omit context.

The big energy deal is down: Serbia and MOL have reached an agreement, the state gains more influence in the NIS

Serbia and Hungary's MOL have reached an agreement regarding future ownership relations in Serbia's Oil Industry (NIS). According to the deal, Serbia could increase its shareholding in NIS and gain more control over the company if Russia's Gazpromneft agrees to sell its majority stake to MOL, with approval from the US Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). The agreement also ensures continued operations at the Pančevo Refinery, with MOL committing to maintain at least the same average annual capacity as in the four years before U.S. sanctions were imposed.

Hungarians can't seem to buy NIS, Šušnjar reveals the reason: 'What I warned about is happening'

Croatian Economy Minister Ante Šušnjar stated that if Hungary's MOL company acquires Serbia's NIS oil company, MOL plans to shut down NIS's refinery within several years.

Bias read (Center): The headline uses dramatized framing ('revealed', 'warned') and presents the minister's concern as validated without providing counterpoint or MOL's perspective on acquisition plans.
