Splitter becomes the new head coach of the Chicago Bulls.

Brazilian basketball coach Tiago Splitter has been named the new head coach of the Chicago Bulls, replacing Billy Donovan who left after six unsuccessful years. Splitter previously coached the Portland Trail Blazers on an interim basis following the arrest of Chauncey Billups. He also served as an assistant coach with the Brooklyn Nets and Houston Rockets before becoming the head coach of Paris Basket, where he won the French league title and reached the quarterfinals of the EuroLeague. Splitter played 355 games in the NBA, mostly with the San Antonio Spurs, with whom he won the championship戒指

Brazilski košarkarski trener, 41-letni Tiago Splitter, je bil imenovan za novega glavnega trenerja ekipe Chicago Bulls.

Splitter je tako postal 25. trener v zgodovini kluba, ustanovljenega leta 1967, in je na klopi zamenjal Billyja Donovana . Ta je klub zapustil po šestih neuspešnih letih.

Prejšnjo sezono je Splitter vodil ekipo Portland Trail Blazers kot začasni trener, potem ko je bil Chauncey Billups aretiran tik pred začetkom sezone zaradi vpletenosti v nezakonite stave. Blazersi so se uvrstili v končnico prek dodatnih kvalifikacij, kar je bil njihov prvi nastop v končnici po letu 2021, v prvem krogu pa so jih nato izločili poznejši finalisti, ekipa San Antonio Spurs.

V svoji igralski karieri je Splitter v Ligi NBA odigral 355 tekem, večinoma v dresu Spursov, s katerimi je leta 2014 osvojil tudi šampionski prstan.
