Salamanca is marching in defense of public healthcare and against waiting lists

Several hundred people marched in Salamanca between the University Health Complex and the Area Health Management office to protest against long waiting lists, which have reached up to 30,000 patients in the province, as well as against the lack of healthcare staff and the redirection of public resources to private healthcare. The spokesperson for the Salamanca Platform for the Defense of Public Healthcare, Isabel Gómez, stated these points during the demonstration.

Varios centenares de personas han marchado este domingo entre el Complejo Asistencial Universitario de Salamanca y la Gerencia de Salud de Área para protestar, entre otras cuestiones, «contra las listas de espera », de hasta 30.000 pacientes en la provincia salmantina, así ... como ante «la falta de personal sanitario que satura los servicios a la ciudadanía» y, por otro lado, contra «las derivaciones de recursos públicos a la sanidad privada».
