The Greens are calling on the federal government to ban accounting firm KPMG following revelations of unethical conduct with the Big Four firm’s audit division.

Senator Barbara Pocock has gone in hot pursuit of KPMG in the same manner in which she pursued PwC Australia and its government contracts when that firm’s breach of confidentiality was first publicised in January 2023.

The  PwC Australia  matter led to that firm being the centrepiece of two key parliamentary committee inquiries, and the poster child for the Greens when it came to arguing for rebuilding the public service and slashing the consulting spend.
