The chaotic morning rush is a familiar scene in many households, with parents scrambling to find shoes, pack lunchboxes and get children to school on time.
But Hillwood Primary has gently reminded families that while the race against the clock is understandable, bedtime attire should stay firmly at home.
In a notice that has raised smiles while carrying a serious message, the school appealed to parents and guardians to help maintain a respectful atmosphere by dressing appropriately before entering the school grounds.
The notice began with the school's motto, "Together for Excellence", before urging families to support its standards.
It stated: "We kindly request all parents and guardians to enter the school premises neatly and appropriately dressed at all times."
The school then made its position crystal clear: "Parents and guardians are requested not to come to the school wearing pyjamas or sleepwear."
While the request may sound amusing, Hillwood Primary outlined a clear dress code, encouraging parents to wear neat jeans or long trousers, dresses or skirts of an appropriate length, shirts or T-shirts, and tidy shoes or sandals.
Pyjamas, dressing gowns, sleep bonnets , revealing outfits, clothing with offensive language, and torn or untidy garments were all placed on the "not permitted" list.
Behind the light-hearted reminder is a serious effort to create an environment that reflects the values the school hopes to instil in its learners.
However, the notice concluded with a message of appreciation: "We appreciate your cooperation in maintaining a professional and respectful school environment for our learners, staff and visitors."
For parents whose morning routine begins before sunrise, the message is simple: coffee can wait, but changing out of your pyjamas probably should not.
