The founder of Ubisoft died in a plane crash.

Claude Guillemot, founder of the global gaming company Ubisoft, tragically died in a plane crash near the village of La Baule in western France. The accident occurred on Friday, but the mayor of La Baule, Franck Louvrier, announced the entrepreneur's death only on Saturday evening.

Oba podle něj měli leteckou licenci a byli zkušení piloti. Instruktor také zahynul, uvedl starosta. V současnosti probíhá vyšetřování letecké nehody.

Guillemotovo úmrtí potvrdila i společnost Ubisoft.

Letadlo se podle zjištění agentury AP zřítilo na poli těsně před přistáním na letišti La Baule-Escoublac.

Guillemot a čtyři bratři založili Ubisoft v roce 1986. Kromě populárních sériií Assassin's Creed nebo Far Cry patří mezi hry Ubisoftu také Just Dance a herní série Rayman a Tom Clancy.
