Jeffrey Sachs: We are proud of Serbia, because it finds the right way in a very complicated world

Jeffrey Sachs, a renowned economist and expert in sustainable development, praised Serbia during his visit to Belgrade, stating that Serbia's role in connecting different parts of the world is crucial in today's complex global landscape. He emphasized that Serbia has found the correct path amid global pressures and highlighted the importance of transitioning from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources. Sachs also noted the opportunity for Serbia to bridge China and the West to achieve sustainable development goals.

Svetski poznati ekonomista i stručnjak za održivi razvoj Džefri Saks rekao je u Beogradu da je povezivanje istinska uloga Srbije. Ulazimo u multipolarni svet, poručio je Saks.

"Ponosni smo na Srbiju , zato što Srbija pronalazi ispravan put u vrlo komplikovanom svetu. To uopšte nije lako postići kad svi viču na tebe - ovo smeš, ovo ne smeš, moraš ovako, sad ste na pogrešnoj strani. Srbija je razumela osnovno - možda zbog svoje duge i kompleksne istorije u prevazilaženju raznih razlika, u povezivanju različitih imperija i kultura, da je istinska uloga Srbije danas upravo povezivanje", rekao je Saks forumu u Centru "Sava".

Saks je istakao da se svet nalazi u vrlo specifičnim okolnostima koje nalažu napuštanje fosilnih goriva i prelazak na obnovljive izvore energije, i ukazao da je ovo prilika za povezivanje Kine i Zapada.

"Parna mašina je nekada bila ogromna promena, a danas su to vetro-turbine i električni automobili. Ovo je trenutak kada moramo iskoristiti povezanost Kine i Zapada kako bismo ostvarili ciljeve održivog razvoja", rekao je Saks.
