Island earthquake: BBC to cut up to 2,000 jobs, biggest cuts in news

BBC has announced plans to cut up to 2,000 jobs across its operations, including significant reductions in its news division, as part of a cost-saving initiative worth £500 million over the next two years. The cuts include reductions in news programming, content budgets, and a review of television and radio channel portfolios due to shifting audience habits toward digital platforms. Senior management will also be reduced by at least 10% to streamline operations. Further details on the restructuring are expected to be released in the coming months.
