Police buy new cars for 1.1 billion kroner

Fra 2027 til 2033 får politiet nye Volvo XC60-biler til patruljer og Mercedes-Benz Vito som cellebiler, skriver Politiets fellestjenester i en pressemelding .

Bilavtalene som nå er inngått, skal dekke deler av politiets behov for biler de neste årene. I en anbudsrunde har de vurdert pris og kvalitet, basert på politiets krav til operativ egnethet, funksjonalitet, sikkerhet og drift. Fem tilbydere meldte sin interesse.

Avtalen er inngått med Volvo Car Norway og Bertel O. Steen.

– De nye kontraktene sikrer politiet tilgang til kritisk viktig materiell i en tid preget av økt usikkerhet og rask endring. De styrker beredskapen og gir nye funksjonelle løsninger for brukerne av politibilene. Samtidig gir kontraktene forutsigbarhet for både politiet og leverandørene i hele kontraktsperioden, sier direktør Helge Clem i Politiets fellestjenester (PFT).

Begge bilforhandlerne sier at de er stolte over å kunne levere biler til politiet.

Framover skal det bygges prototyper, som skal testes, før bilene skal kunne bestilles for bruk fra våren 2027.
