V Plzni pokračuje spor o žulovou dlažbu na náměstí Republiky. Město nechalo některé původní kameny opracovat, což část obyvatel a odborné veřejnosti vidí jako znehodnocení historického materiálu. Třeba podle architekta Jana Tomana ztrácí dlažba kompletním přeformátováním historickou hodnotu. Spolku Pěstuj prostor zase scházela před zahájením projektu hlubší veřejná diskuze. Radnice naopak argumentuje mimo jiné větším pohodlím pro handicapované. „V dnešní době, kdy se tam musí pohybovat vozíčkáři či nevidomí, tak dlažba musí splňovat parametry,“ zdůraznil technický náměstek primátora Pavel Bosák (Piráti). Podle radnice si navíc patinu dlažba zachová. Zpátky na náměstí, kde jsou nyní místo žulové dlažby bagry a další stavební technika, by se dlažba mohla vrátit do konce léta.
