"I'm listening to this lady and here she is again... she doesn't know anything about history"...

Ivan Penava, leader of the Croatian Homeland Defense Movement (Domovinski Pokret), stated at a press conference that his party's resolution aims to stop the overrepresentation of Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and ensure the implementation of the principle of constitutive equality guaranteed by the Dayton Agreement. He criticized parts of the political scene and media for not adequately understanding the position of Croats in BiH and rejected accusations that his initiative is linked to the revival of Herceg-Bosna. Penava emphasized that the movement's goal is to prevent the overvoting

The conference that was to be held on Wednesday at 2 pm was first postponed, and then 35 minutes after the announced start - canceled without explanation.

The press conference was to be addressed by DP general secretary Mladen Barać and DP parliamentary representative Josip Dabro.

'We are continuing to talk to the HDZ'

The first meeting of the leadership of the Patriotic Movement and representatives of the HDZ was held on the DP's proposal for a parliamentary resolution on strengthening the political position of Croats in BiH, the Patriotic Movement announced.

As they stated, the reason for the meeting was the DP's party initiative, and they worked on coordinating the positions on the draft Resolution that should be adopted in the Croatian Parliament and implemented in accordance with the strategic national interests of the Republic of Croatia and the protection of Croats as a constituent people in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The DP briefed the coalition partners on the party initiative and worked on harmonizing the positions on the draft Resolution that should be adopted in the Croatian Parliament and implemented in accordance with the strategic national interests of the Republic of Croatia and the protection of Croats as a constituent people in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The DP said it firmly rejected the comments that the Republic of Croatia should not interfere in the internal affairs of a neighbouring state.

"The Republic of Croatia is not only a co-signatory of the Washington and Dayton agreements, but also has a constitutional and political responsibility towards the Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The historical circumstances and decisions taken during the establishment of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina further emphasize the obligation of the Republic of Croatia to actively participate in the protection of their rights and constitutional position", the statement reads.

They added that in the coming days they will continue to talk with the HDZ in order to harmonize the final positions. Their goal is to present to the coalition partners political factors and the Croatian, Bosnian and Herzegovinian and international public "a proposal that will be feasible, based on international agreements and in the best interest of the Croatian people in BiH, the national interest of the Republic of Croatia, with a clear contribution to the construction of a unified, stable, functional Bosnia and Herzegovina as a future member of the European Union".

Following the final consultations, the DP issued a statement, which is reproduced in its entirety:

'With reference to the Charter of the United Nations, which sets as its aim the development of friendly relations among nations based on the 'principle of equal rights and self-determination of peoples',1including the right of all peoples to internal self-determination and to pursue freely their economic, social and cultural development,

Recalling in particular the provisions of the Constitution of the Republic of Croatia which provide that parts of the Croatian people in other states are guaranteed special care and protection by the Republic of Croatia.

Recalling the historical circumstances that led to the decision of the Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina to establish the Croatian Community of Herzeg-Bosnia on 18 November 1991, within the internationally recognised borders of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Croatian Republic of Herzeg-Bosnia on 28 August 1993 within those same borders, subsequently constitutionally integrated into the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the role of the Croatian Defence Council and the Croatian Army in defending the Croatian people from military aggression, liberating the occupied territories in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina and establishing a military balance in Bosnia and Herzegovina, including Operation Storm, Maestral and the Southern Moves carried out at the invitation of the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which contributed to the creation of the prerequisites for the conclusion of the General Framework Agreement for the Peaceful Settlement of Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1993 (the Dayton Agreement), and the end of the hostilities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, along with the accession of the Croats to the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Herzegovina, in the previous year;

Considering that the Republic of Croatia is a signatory of the Washington Agreement establishing the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina between the Croat and Bosniak peoples and the Dayton Agreement and that, under international law, it has a political and legal obligation to actively participate in the promotion of stability, the equality of constituent peoples in accordance with the Annex to the Dayton Agreement and the European future of Bosnia and Herzegovina,

Recalling also the previous agreement establishing a confederation between the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia, as well as th…
