Iranski vrhovni vođa Modžtaba Hamnei ovlastio je iranske pregovarače da vode direktne razgovore sa SAD, uz poruku da to ne predstavlja prihvatanje stavova Vašingtona.

Predsednik iranskog parlamenta Mohamed Bager Kalibaf potom je saopštio da će pregovarački tim poštovati iranske "crvene linije", ne pominjući eventualne promene u planovima za sastanak.

Američki zvaničnici smatraju da bi neizvesnost oko razgovora mogla da bude povezana sa tenzijama u Libanu.

Izraelska vojska je ranije tokom dana izvela napad na jugu Libana u kojem su poginule četiri osobe, dok su kasnije izbili intenzivni sukobi između izraelskih snaga i Hezbolaha.

Predsednik SAD Donald Tramp poručio je da su SAD posvećene miru i pozvao sve strane da omoguće nesmetano održavanje pregovora.
