As many as 500 journalists will be fired.

The BBC has announced plans to cut approximately 550 journalism-related jobs as part of a cost-saving initiative, alongside reductions in programming and content spending. General Director Matt Brittin stated that the cuts would save around £80 million over time, with overall savings targeted at £500 million over three years. The move comes amid shifting audience habits toward online platforms. Additional cuts include 700 corporate roles and a reduction in senior management positions by at least 10%. These layoffs represent the largest in the BBC's history over the past 15 years.

V treh letih bodo prihranili 580 milijonov evrov
