Noah Lyles set a new world record in the 150 meters

American athlete Noah Lyles set a new world record in the 150-meter race at the Continental Tour Gold event in Ostrava, Czech Republic. He completed the race in 14.67 seconds, surpassing the previous record of 14.92 seconds set by Jamaican Kishane Thompson in April. After crossing the finish line, Lyles celebrated enthusiastically with his competitor Gout Gout, who finished third with a time of 14.96 seconds. Lyles has previously won Olympic gold in the 100 meters (2024) and two bronze medals in the 200 meters (2024 and 2020). The European Athletics Championships will take place from August 10

Ett nytt världsrekord på den något udda distansen 150 meter är satt.

Noah Lyles sprang in på 14,67 sekunder i Ostrava.

Efter målgång firade amerikanen vilt med konkurrenten Gout Gout.

Under tisdagskvällen ägde Continental Tour Gold rum i Ostrava, Tjeckien.

Då tävlades det bland annat på den något udda distansen 150 meter, böjd bana. Det tidigare världsrekordet i grenen låg på 14,92 sekunder och sattes i april av jamaicanen Kishane Thompson.

Nu är rekordet slaget av amerikanen Noah Lyles.

Lyles sprang in på 14,67 sekunder och slog därmed världsrekordet med 25 hundradelar.

Vilda glädjescener

Direkt efter målgång firade Lyles vilt tillsammans med supertalangen Gout Gout, som slutade trea på tiden 14,96 sekunder.

Noah Lyles har bland annat vunnit OS-guld i 100 meter (2024) och två OS-brons i 200 meter (2024 och 2020).

Friidrotts-EM äger rum 10–16 augusti – ett mästerskap som SVT sänder.
