Germany investigates possible cases of sabotage of energy installations

Germany is investigating possible sabotage of energy infrastructure following a suspected arson attack on an electrical substation in Reutlingen. The incident caused power outages affecting 20,000 households and resulted in millions of euros in damages. Authorities have identified additional suspicious incidents, including an unsuccessful sabotage attempt at another facility in the region. The German news agency DPA suggested the attacks could be linked to leftist extremists, referencing similar past incidents in Berlin.

Německo po podezření ze žhářského útoku na elektrickou rozvodnu v Reutlingenu na jihozápadě země prověřuje stopy dalších možných sabotáží energetických zařízení. Ve čtvrtek o tom informovala agentura DPA s tím, že vyšetřovatelé konkrétní místa neupřesnili.

Před týdnem vyhořela rozvodna v Reutlingenu, což pro 20 000 domácností znamenalo dočasnou ztrátu dodávek elektřiny. Oheň způsobil škody za několik milionů eur (desítek milionů Kč). Podle vyšetřovatelů za požárem stáli žháři.

Státní zastupitelství ve Stuttgartu ve čtvrtek uvedlo, že v regionu mají vyšetřovatelé podezření na další sabotáže. Deník Südwest Presse zmínil neúspěšný pokus o sabotáž na elektrické stanici u Münsingenu v okrese Reutlingen.

DPA dříve k události v Reutlingenu napsala, že způsob uskutečnění naznačuje možnou akci z řad levicových extremistů. Připomněla také rozsáhlé útoky na rozvodnou síť v Berlíně.

Po útoku na dva sloupy elektrického vedení loni v září zůstalo v německé metropoli dočasně bez proudu na 50 000 domácností a asi 2000 podniků. Výpadek trval přibližně 60 hodin. Útok na kabelový most přes Teltowský kanál v Berlíně začátkem ledna v době mrazivého počasí připravil o dodávky proudu 45.000 domácností a přes 2200 podniků. Dodávka elektřiny pro všechny postižené byla obnovena zhruba až po 100 hodinách.
