V březnu americká televizní stanice CNN odhalila na šifrované aplikaci Telegram tzv.  akademii znásilňování  – skupinu čítající tisíce uživatelů, v níž si muži navzájem radili, jak nejsnáze omámit a zneužívat ženy.

O podobných skupinách se mluvilo již dříve , nemluvě o mediálně známém případu oběti sériového znásilnění Gisèle Pelicot z roku 2024.

Telegram se již v roce 2024 dostal pod drobnohled také v Jižní Koreji kvůli chatovacím místnostem, v nichž tisíce mužů sdílely deepfake pornografii.
