Z Brazilci je osvojil tudi Copo Americo (2004) in pokal konfederacij (2005). S seleçãom je že zelo dolgo, saj je že na SP 1970, ko je reprezentanco vodil Mario Zagallo , skrbel za telesno pripravljenost nogometašev in bil del trenerskega štaba.
