Kedden ebédidőben több hasonló beszélgetést kaptunk el a Mediaworks Üllői úti épülete előtt. A vállalat az Orbán-kormány propagandájának egyik központja volt, portfóliójába több mint 70 médiatermék tartozik, köztük az Origo, a Magyar Nemzet, a Hír TV és a megyei lapok, emellett nyomdái is vannak.
A beléptetőrendszeren keresztül ki-be érkező emberek a bejáratnál összefutva érdeklődtek egymástól, kit hogyan érintenek a változások. Volt, aki egy nejlonszatyorban vitte be az ebédjét műanyag ételdobozokban, amikor egy már kirúgott kollégája kérdésére elárulta, hogy ő „van még”, és mivel a névsorban hátrébb szerepel, van kis ideje, míg behívják, addig megebédel.
Egy távozó munkatárs azt mondta, elég nagy a vérengzés bent, egy másik szerint negyvenből körülbelül tízen maradtak az Origónál.
Az eddigi értesülések szerint közel 200 embert küldhet el azonnali hatállyal a Mediaworks, a cég a pontos létszámot azóta sem árulta el. Azt viszont közölték, hogy keddtől megszűnik a Bors napilap , és felfüggesztik a Ripost.hu és a Metropol.hu portálok működését. Emellett megszüntetik több megyei hírlap nyomtatott kiadását. Kiderült, hogy a csoportos leépítés során a PestiSrácok is elbocsátja az összes dolgozóját, ami húsz munkavállalót érint. A Forbes pedig arról írt, hogy a Világgazdaság című lap szerkesztőségének tagjait is berendelték az irodaházba kedd reggelre, és egyesével küldték el a szerkesztőség tagjait.
Beszéltünk több frissen elbocsátott, valamint egy, az állásában maradó mediaworksös munkatárssal is. Azt mondták, korábban egy általános tájékoztatást kaptak a csoportos leépítésről, majd kedden egyenként hívták be az egyik vezetői irodába az embereket. Akiket elküldtek, azoknak le kellett adniuk a laptopjukat, majd két HR-es kísérte le őket. Szerintük a leépítés szinte minden szerkesztőséget és beosztást érint.
A nagy bálna próbál lefogyni kis cápává
Az első ember, akit megszólítottunk, az Origo egyik rovatvezetője volt, és mint kiderült, éppen az elbocsátása után távozott az épületből. „Nem ért váratlanul, április 13. óta lélekben valahol már készültünk erre. De kicsit azért bíztam benne, hogy én nem leszek ebben a körben” – kezdte, majd elmondta, hogy másfél évet dolgozott a lapnál. Korábban húsz évig szabadúszó volt, az Origo viszont az addigiakhoz képest végre stabil megélhetést biztosított neki és a családjának.
A benti hangulatról azt mondta, a kirúgottak között voltak, akik sírtak, mások kínjukban mosolyogtak. Szerinte az Origónál mindenki a maximumot tette a munkába a kampányidőszakban és azon kívül is, ezért úgy gondolja, biztosan nem a munkaminőséggel volt bajuk a vezetőknek. Inkább a választási eredmény ismeretében akarják átalakítani a Mediaworks működését, amit „egy hatalmas, nehezen mozgó anyahajóként” jellemzett, ezért szerinte is ideje volt, hogy kicsit széttördeljék. Csoportos elbocsátásra viszont nem számított, azt gondolta, a választás után a jobboldali-konzervatív oldalon lesz olyan vállalkozó, akinek megéri a Mediaworksöt újra felfuttatni.

„Azt gondoltam, hogy jön egy olyan befektető, aki azt a modellt akarja továbbvinni, mint ami az Egyesült Államokban is működik, ahol van a liberális sajtó meg van a patrióta sajtó, és bizonyos tulajdonosok a Republikánus Párt mellett vannak elkötelezve, mások a demokraták mellett. Itthon nem látunk ilyen magánbefektetői hátteret, hanem úgy tűnik,
inkább a nagy bálna próbál lefogyni kis cápává.”
A kérdésre, hogy mennyire tudott azonosulni mindazzal, ami a Mediaworks lapjainál zajlott, azt válaszolta: neki sem tetszett minden, de a necces dolgoknál inkább befogta a száját. Ez szerinte nagyjából minden más hírportálnál így működik: „Van egy irányvonal, amihez tartják magukat a munkatársak.” Azt viszont nem szerette, amikor egy az egyben kérték tőle politikai anyagok átvételét, a háborús uszítást, az ellenségkép-kreálást pedig soknak tartotta.
„De kötöttem egy kompromisszumot a kiszámíthatóság érdekében, amiről most kiderült, hogy középtávon annyira nem működött.”
Végül azt mondta, most leporolja a pedagógusdiplomáját, és miután „a konzervatív Fidesz-kormány rendbe tette a pedagógusbéreket”, tanári állás után néz.
Tudtam, hogy ciki az Origo
„Én örülök, hogy vége van – kezdte egy másik, az épületből távozó munkatárs, akit szintén az Origo szerkesztőségéből rúgtak ki nem sokkal korábban. – Már amúgy is utáltam ezt az egészet. A Fideszt is.” Azt mondta, nem olyan régóta dolgozott a lapnál, és csak azért vállalta el a munkát, mert éppen jól jött a pénz.
„Tudtam, hogy ciki az Origo. Kérdezték, hol dolgozom, és nem akartam megmondani. Közben viszont leszavaztam a Tiszára.”
Szerinte nem ő volt az egyetlen ellenzéki érzelmű dolgozó a lapnál, sőt meg meri kockáztatni, hogy a munkatársai közül többen szavaztak a Tiszára, mint a Fideszre. Ő viszont hangosan is elmo…
