Keniassa pidätettiin useita ihmisiä tiistaina mielenosoituksissa ebolaa varten perustettavaa karanteenikeskusta vastaan.
Yhdysvallat aikoo rakentaa maahan karanteenikeskuksen. Keskus rakennetaan Laikipian lentotukikohdan yhteyteen Mount Kenyan juurelle. Sinne on tarkoitus viedä karanteeniin Kongon demokraattisesta tasavallasta saapuvia yhdysvaltalaisia.
Karanteenikeskuksen rakennustyöt on keskeytetty väliaikaisesti Kenian korkeimman oikeuden määräyksellä.
Maailman terveysjärjestö WHO on julistanut ebolan kansainväliseksi terveysuhaksi Kongon demokraattisen tasavallan ebolaepidemian vuoksi. Epidemiassa on todettu 515 vahvistettua tartuntaa, joista 91 on johtanut kuolemaan.
Kongon naapurimaissa tartuntatapauksia on toistaiseksi todettu vain Ugandassa, missä on vahvistettu 19 tartuntaa.
