Italy's foreign minister cancels US tour after Trump's insult to Meloni

Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani has canceled a planned trip to the United States in response to comments made by former U.S. President Donald Trump regarding Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. Trump claimed that Meloni 'blackmailed' him into taking a photo with her during the G7 meeting in Evian, France. Meloni denied the allegations, stating that neither she nor Italy have ever engaged in such behavior. The incident follows Meloni's defense of Pope Leo XIV against Trump's criticism in April.
