Stopnja zaposlenosti se je po najnovejših podatkih Eurostata v prvem četrtletju rahlo zvišala (za 0,1 odstotne točke), medtem ko se je v Sloveniji v času vlade Roberta Goloba zmanjšala za 0,3 odstotne točke, kar je eden največjih padcev med državami Evropske unije.

V prvem četrtletju 2026 je stopnja zaposlenosti oseb, starih od 20 do 64 let, v EU znašala 76,3 odstotka, kar je za 0,1 odstotne točke več kot v četrtem četrtletju 2025, ko je bila zaposlenost 76,2-odstotna.

Zaposlenost se je najbolj povečala v Italiji (za 0,5 odstotne točke) ter za 0,4 odstotne točke v Belgiji, na Cipru, v Litvi, na Slovaškem in Švedskem.  Stopnja zaposlenosti je ostala stabilna v šestih državah EU, zmanjšala pa se je v desetih državah. Najbolj se je zmanjšala v Latviji (za 0,8 odstotne točke), na Irskem ( za 0,7 odstotne točke) ter v Sloveniji in na Finskem (za 0,3 odstotne točke).
