Hack Péter megjegyezte: vannak olyan közjogi tisztségviselők, akiket személyre szabott jogalkotással és, vagy a jogállami követelmények sérelmével helyeztek pozíciójukba, ezen közjogi tisztségviselők leváltására erős közjogi érveket lehet felhozni. Az aláírók érvrendszere azonban nem ezen a vonalon halad. Korábban Magyar Péter május 31-ig adott időt Sulyok Tamás köztársasági elnöknek, a Kúria, az Országos Bírói Hivatal, az Alkotmánybíróság, az Állami Számvevőszék, a Gazdasági Versenyhivatal és a Médiahatóság elnökének, valamint a legfőbb ügyésznek, hogy önként távozzanak a pozícióikból. Ezen közjogi méltóságok jogi eszközökkel való eltávolítását szorgalmazzák a nyílt levél aláírói is, akik között a Soros-hálózathoz közel álló több szereplő megtalálható, köztük Kis János egykori SZDSZ-elnök, Vig Dávid, az Amnesty International Magyarország egykori igazgatója), valamint Halmai Gábor alkotmányjogász.
