A mayor in Belgium punished an aggressive minor in a unique way: "I have to react"

The mayor of the Belgian city of Mechelen, Bart Somers, imposed a one-month ban on using two bus lines on a 17-year-old from Putte after repeated incidents where he was alleged to have been aggressive and threatened a bus driver. This is the first such ban ever issued to a minor. The measure applies to two bus routes connecting Mechelen and Putte, with police conducting targeted checks to ensure compliance. Somers emphasized that the decision was based on repeated aggressive behavior rather than a single incident. Official reports have been sent to prosecutors, who may impose additional legal 

Gradonačelnik belgijskog grada Mehelena Bart Somers izrekao je jednom 17-godišnjaku iz Putea jednomesečnu zabranu korišćenja dve autobuske linije nakon niza incidenata u kojima je, prema navodima vlasti, bio agresivan i pretio vozaču autobusa .

Reč je o prvoj zabrani te vrste koja je izrečena maloletnoj osobi , preneo je VRT.

Mera se odnosi na dve autobuske linije koje povezuju Mehelen i Pute, a policija će sprovoditi ciljane kontrole kako bi proverila da li se zabrana poštuje.

Somers je naglasio da odluka nije doneta zbog jednog incidenta, već nakon ponovljenog agresivnog ponašanja mladića u javnom prevozu.

" Nisam doneo ovu odluku na osnovu jednog događaja, već zbog ponovljenog i otvoreno agresivnog ponašanja. Kao gradonačelnik moram da reagujem u takvim slučajevima i da garantujem bezbednost putnika ", rekao je Somers.

Pored administrativne zabrane, protiv maloletnika su sačinjeni službeni izveštaji koji su prosleđeni tužilaštvu, pa bi sudija za maloletnike mogao da izrekne i dodatne mere .

Regionalni javni prevoznik De Lijn podržao je odluku gradskih vlasti.

Iako vozači autobusa nemaju ovlašćenja da sami sprovode zabranu, oni mogu da obaveste policiju preko dispečerskog centra ukoliko primete mladića u vozilu .

Prema navodima lokalnih medija, ovakve zabrane su retke, a slična mera uvedena je ranije ove godine i u belgijskom Kortrajku.
