EU could restrict protection of Ukrainian refugees to avoid depriving Kiev of soldiers

The European Commission has proposed extending temporary protection for Ukrainian refugees within the EU but with limitations to avoid depriving Ukraine of military personnel. The proposal includes potential restrictions such as excluding men eligible for conscription or those who illegally left Ukraine from the protective status. This measure aims to balance humanitarian support for Ukrainian refugees while ensuring Ukraine maintains its defense capacity against Russian aggression.
