A mulher, de 48 anos, terá ido buscar a criança à escola sob o falso argumento de que haveria uma consulta médica marcada. Lara nunca mais foi vista.
Nessa mesma noite, o pai da criança participou o desaparecimento da filha à GNR de Valpaços. A mentira durou pouco tempo, já que a madrasta terá confessado a autoria do crime: asfixiou a enteada e abandonou o corpo na serra da Padrela.
A Polícia Judiciária de Vila Real encontrou o corpo e a mochila da criança na quarta-feira.
A família vive em Celeirós, concelho de Valpaços, e o crime terá ocorrido na serra da Padrela, já no município vizinho de Vila Pouca de Aguiar.
O diretor da PJ, David Martins, explicou que há indícios de que a menina terá sido asfixiada pela madrasta, no entanto advertiu que as causa das morte terão de ser confirmadas pela autópsia ao cadáver.
"Tudo indica que será uma questão de vingança", salientou referindo que o casal estava junto há cerca de cinco anos, com várias separações pelo meio.
