Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) held a peaceful protest at Freedom Park in Bengaluru on Sunday (June 14, 2026) evening as part of its nationwide campaign demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the alleged NEET paper leak and irregularities in the CBSE’s on-screen marking system. While actor Prakash Raj expressed his wish of wanting Mr. Wangchuk as India’s Education Minister, the activist said that the Minister “should be like him”, but clarified that he does not see himself in the top role. Mr. Wangchuk lashed out at the government over its lack of accountability and said that he has joined the cause against the “rotten” education system. Mr. Dipke said that “we are called cockroaches when we try to expose the system”. Urging people to raise their voices without fear, he said that if it come down to arrests or going to jail, he would be the first one to do so.
Earlier today, protesters gathered in large numbers at Dharna Chowk in Hyderabad to voice their frustration against the NDA government at the Centre. Addressing the gathering, Mr. Wangchuk clarified that the agitation is not a bid for political power or to challenge any political outfit, but to raise public awareness and safeguard citizens’ rights. The organisation has already held similar protests in Delhi, Pune, Lucknow and Amritsar.

I will be the first one to go to jail: Abhijeet Dipke
Abhijeet Dipke, urging people to raise their voices, said: “For how long are we going to fear these people? For how long are we going to be scared of them? Now, we need to make sure that no matter what happens, if we have to go to jail, we will go to jail, but we will go for freedom. I will be the first one to go to jail.”
On the point about speaking up without fear, he recalled that his mother was very worried for him. “When I was returning from the USA, my mother cried more than she did when I was leaving for the USA. She was asking me not to return to India because she was afraid that I might get arrested. Now do we have to be afraid of being jailed just for speaking up? Everybody who is present here, their mother must be worried right now. Because you all are raising your voices.”

CJP founder on govt. dividing citizens over "Hindu-Muslim narrative"
“The government has started this Hindu-Muslim narrative,” Mr. Dipke said, adding that this has pushed people to not think of themselves as citizens first.
“Every election, every year, they try to divide us using the Hindu-Muslim narrative. Now, what has that done to us? It’s because of this narrative that people have started to think of themselves not as citizens. The first thing they think of themselves as is either a Muslim or a Hindu. Now, we need to remember, we are firstly and lastly Indians,” he said.

'Shameful': Dipke on students who gave up on their own lives over paper leaks
CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke spoke about the students’ deaths in connection with the paper leaks. “There were lakhs of students who could have become doctors in the future. The very students who could have gone on to save the lives of others were forced to give up their own lives. I don’t think there can be anything more shameful than this for the country. This country is far better than that,” he said.
“We are called Pakistanis. We are called anti-nationals. They are saying this about students. A 17-year-old student was called a Pakistani simply for exposing the system. They were targeted for speaking out,” he added.
