Traffic on the Yellow Line of the Lisbon Metro was interrupted by a malfunction in the signage.

Due to the World Cup, the Lisbon Metro closed access to the Terreiro do Paço station today at 5:30 PM for safety reasons related to the national team's match against the Democratic Republic of Congo, which ended in a draw (1-1). A similar interruption occurred on the Blue Line between Terreiro do Paço and Santa Apolónia later in the afternoon, but it was resolved by 8:53 PM.

A circulação na linha Amarela do metro de Lisboa esteve interrompida devido a avaria na sinalização, adiantou esta quarta-feira a empresa na rede social X. De acordo com a publicação, divulgada pelas 20h50, a circulação na linha Amarela foi interrompida devido a uma "avaria na sinalização".

A circulação foi entretanto retomada pelas 21h30, anunciou a empresa pela mesma rede social.

Devido ao Mundial de futebol, o Metropolitano de Lisboa encerrou hoje pelas 17h30 os acessos da estação do Terreiro do Paço para esta praça e para o Cais das Colunas, por motivos de segurança.

Numa nota publicada hoje na rede social X, a empresa referiu que a medida foi tomada "por razões de segurança relacionadas com a estreia da selecção nacional de futebol no Mundial de 2026 frente à RDCongo", que terminou com um empate (1-1) .

Também devido a avaria na sinalização a circulação na linha Azul esteve ao final da tarde interrompida entre Terreiro do Paço e Santa Apolónia, mas a situação ficou resolvida pelas 20h53, segundo divulgou a empresa no X.

O Terreiro do Paço tem sido palco de transmissão dos jogos do Mundial de 2026, reunindo os adeptos da competição junto ao Lisboa Football Arena, espaço criado numa parceria entre a Câmara Municipal de Lisboa e a Federação Portuguesa de Futebol, que permite acompanhar os jogos em ecrã gigante.

O Metropolitano de Lisboa opera diariamente com quatro linhas: Amarela (Rato-Odivelas), Verde (Telheiras-Cais do Sodré), Azul (Reboleira-Santa Apolónia) e Vermelha (Aeroporto-São Sebastião).

Normalmente, o metro funciona entre as 06h30 e as 01h00.
