DOK mesecima predstavljaju sebe kao glas naroda i borce za pravdu, pojedini predstavnici blokaderskog pokreta sada otvoreno poručuju da pripadaju privilegovanoj klasi i eliti društva.

Tokom gostovanja u emisiji "Utisak nedelje", profesor Filozofskog fakulteta Oliver Tošković govorio je o kritikama koje se upućuju učesnicima protesta.

Često nam kažu:

- Pa ne živite loše, šta hoćete? - rekao je Tošković.

Na to je voditeljka Olja Bećković konstatovala:

- Pa da, pobuna privilegovanih. Samo ste se ustvari tako identifikovali.

Nakon toga se uključio i Milutin Kostić, specijalista psihijatrije i docent Medicinskog fakulteta Univerziteta u Beogradu, koji je rekao:

- Mi jesmo jedan deo privilegovane klase.

Ovo nije prvi put da se među učesnicima protesta mogu čuti ocene da predstavljaju društvenu, akademsku ili intelektualnu elitu.

U javnosti su se prethodnih meseci često mogli čuti izrazi poput "akademska elita", "intelektualna elita" ili "najobrazovaniji deo društva".

Međutim, postavlja se pitanje da li oni koji za sebe tvrde da pripadaju eliti društva istovremeno mogu da opravdaju uvrede, psovke, targetiranje neistomišljenika i poruke koje su se mogle čuti na pojedinim skupovima i protestima.

Elita se tradicionalno povezuje sa kulturom dijaloga, argumentovanom raspravom i odgovornošću u javnom prostoru, a ne sa vređanjem, tenzijama i pozivima na sukobe.
