Az Integritás Hatóság elnöke a felmentését célzó kezdeményezésről azt mondta, bízik a bíróság reális helyzetértékelésében. Biró Ferenc Pál az MTI-vel azt közölte: az ellene „politikai céllal indult büntetőeljárás” célja mindvégig az volt, hogy személyén keresztül a hatóság működését veszélyeztessék.

Windisch László, az Állami Számvevőszék elnöke bejelentette , hogy kezdeményezte az Integritás Hatóság elnöke jogviszonyának megszüntetését a Fővárosi Törvényszéken, miután a Központi Nyomozó Főügyészség vádat emelt Biró Ferenc Pál ellen a többi között hivatali visszaélés miatt.

A hatóság elnöke erre reagálva közleményében azt írta: „amióta ez az eljárás elindult, tudtam, hogy elsődleges feladatom a hatóság szervezetének integritásának biztosítása, a rendelkezésemre álló összes eszközzel, akár azzal is, hogy a szervezet bizalmát élvezve kiállok a nyilvánosság elé”. „Meggyőződésem, hogy a bukott hatalom egyik utolsó embere politikai küldetést teljesít” – közölte.

Biró Ferenc Pál azt mondta, számára az Integritás Hatóság zavartalan munkája a személyes érdeke fölött áll, különösen egy olyan fontos időszakban, amilyen az EU-pénzekkel kapcsolatos megállapodás megszületését követően Magyarország előtt van.

„Munkámat folytatom, jogkövető emberként pedig bízom a független bíróság reális értékítéletében és helyzetértékelésében, ugyanakkor hangsúlyozom: az ártatlanság vélelme mint jogi és igazságszolgáltatási alapvetés különösen fontos olyan helyzetekben, amikor egy állami vezető munkáját és hitelességét a bukott hatalom próbálja aláásni” – közölte a hatóság elnöke.
