The driver collapsed and died in Kokkola. Police suspect he was ill.

A 70-year-old man died after his car veered off the road into a field in Kokkola. The police suspect he may have suffered a medical emergency. 70-vuotias mies kuoli Kokkolassa, kun hänen kuljettamansa auto oli yllättäen ajautunut vastakkaisen kaistan yli pellolle, Keski-Pohjanmaan poliisilaitos tiedottaa.

Poliisin mukaan onnettomuus tapahtui Kajaanintiellä, noin puoli kilometriä valtatie 8:sta Kälviän suuntaan.

Sivullisten aloittamasta elvytyksestä huolimatta autoa ajanut mies kuoli onnettomuuspaikalla. Poliisin alustava epäily on, että mies sai sairauskohtauksen.

Poliisi sai ilmoituksen liikenneonnettomuudesta hätäkeskukselta kello 15.12.
