As we crawl towards the end of the week, the government’s budget legislation continues to dominate coverage this morning while the opposition (be that the Coalition or One Nation) still has the commentariat all worked up.

As expected, given Labor’s enormous majority, the House of Representatives passed the first tranche of the legislation unamended yesterday as the Coalition’s attempts to make changes were voted down.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese posted on social media afterwards: “PASSED THE HOUSE: tax cuts for every worker and a fair go for first home buyers.”
