Ríflega sjö þúsund farþegar hafa orðið fyrir áhrifum þess að flugferðum Icelandair hefur verið aflýst vegna mönnunarvanda síðustu vikur. Mikil óvissa veldur ferðalöngum áhyggjum en kjaradeila flugmanna og Icelandair er í algjörum hnút og engin lausn í sjónmáli.
Kjaradeilunni var vísað til ríkissáttasemjara í apríl en þá höfðu kjarasamningar verið lausir frá því í lok október. Síðan þá hafa samninganefndir flugmanna og Icelandair tekist á um vinnufyrirkomulag, frídaga og svigrúm Icelandair til að skipuleggja rekstur sinn.
Samkvæmt upplýsingum frá Icelandair hafa ríflega sjö þúsund farþegar orðið fyrir áhrifum þess að flugferðum Icelandair hefur verið aflýst vegna mönnunarvanda síðustu vikur. Frá byrjun maí hefur tuttugu og átta flugferðum Icelandair frá Íslandi verið aflýst en síðast í gær var þremur ferðum aflýst til Parísar, Óslóar og Toronto.
Komi ekki til vegna aðgerða flugmanna
Flugmenn hafa sagt að aflýsingarnar komi ekki til vegna aðgerða sem tengjast kjaradeilunni og sagði formaður Félags íslenskra atvinnuflugmanna síðast í maí þær sýna að flugáætlun félagsins standist ekki álagspróf með tilliti til mönnunar. Það sé á ábyrgð Icelandair að tryggja að áætlunin sé mönnuð með sjálfbærum hætti.
Sumar þessara aflýsinga hafa komið til með skömmum fyrirvara og dæmi um að farþegar hafi verið mættir á flugvöll þegar aflýst var. Nokkuð hefur verið um að farþegar hafi haft samband við Neytendasamtökin til að kynna sér rétt sinn.
„Farþegar eiga rétt á að velja á milli þess að velja endurgreiðslu eða vera endurbókaðir á annað flug sér að kostnaðarlausu. Ef farþegar velja að halda ferð sinni áfram þá geta þeir líka átt rétt á ákveðinni aðstoð, til dæmis gistingu ef þörf er á og máltíð og hressingu í samræmi við lengd tafar og svoleiðis,“ segir Una Magnea Stefánsdóttir lögfræðingur hjá Neytendasamtökunum.
Þrátt fyrir að farþegar geti átt rétt á bótum vegna tjóns duga þær ekki alltaf þegar fólk hefur þegar greitt fyrir gistingu og bílaleigubíla á áfangastað.
Fundurinn í dag hafi engan árangur borið
Fyrir um þremur vikum setti Ástráður Haraldsson ríkissáttasemjari fjölmiðlabann á deiluaðila sem enn er í gildi. Frá þeim tíma hefur þó lítið þokast í samkomulagsátt.
Samninganefndir flugmanna og Icelandair funduðu síðast í Karphúsinu í dag. Ástráður segir fundinn engan árangur hafa borið. Staðan sé mjög flókin og ekki sjáist til lands.
Fundað verður aftur í Karphúsinu klukkan tíu í fyrramálið en væntingar til þess að fundurinn skili árangri eru hóflegar.
Þannig segir Ástráður að verið sé að reyna að halda viðkvæmu samtali lifandi. Deiluaðilar hafi hins vegar mjög ólíkar hugmyndir og sameiginleg lausn ekki í sjónmáli.
Ferðalangar hafa margir hverjir áhyggjur af stöðunni.
„Þegar maður er búinn að plana með margra mánaða fyrirvara sumarfrí með fjölskyldunni þá auðvitað veldur þetta áhyggjum,“ segir Una hjá Neytendasamtökunum.
