MANILA, Philippines — The statement of assets, liabilities, and net worth (SALN) for 2025 of Vice President Sara Duterte and her husband, Manases Carpio, posted more than an 11-percent increase after they declared a total net worth of P98.6 million.
Duterte and Carpio’s latest SALN posted more than a P10-million increase compared to 2024, when they declared a P88.5-million net worth.

Their SALN for last year, obtained by Inquirer on Monday, was received by the Office of the Ombudsman on May 29.

Duterte and her husband had a total of P81.3 million in real properties and P41.4 million in personal properties, including motor vehicles, for a total of P122.7 million.
On the other hand, Duterte and Carpio declared combined liabilities of P24.1 million. Of this total, Duterte declared a P6 million loan in HDMF and P5.18 million from “various creditors.” Carpio also declared a P6.95 million loan from “various creditors” and another P6 million from a “bank.”
Duterte’s firm links
Duterte also declared that she is an incorporator and stockholder of Metro City Chow Foods since 2007, and a stockholder of Gencorp Industries Inc, since 2013.
Her links to Metro City Chow Foods were questioned by lawmakers during the House justice panel’s impeachment proceedings in April.

At that time, the panel learned that Duterte is a board member and incorporator of the said firm within her term.

Gerardo del Rosario, director of the Company Registration and Monitoring Department of the Securities and Exchange Commission, said a certain “Sarah Z. Duterte” was listed in the General Information Sheet of Metro City Chow Foods as a member of the board of directors from 2022 to 2025, as well as a stockholder.
Cagayan de Oro 1st District Rep. Lordan Suan said this is against the 1987 Constitution.

Suan then cited Article VII, Section 13 of the 1987 Constitution, which states: “The President, Vice-President, the Members of the Cabinet, and their deputies or assistants shall not, unless otherwise provided in this Constitution, hold any other office or employment during their tenure.” /das
