18-year-old sentenced to prison for stabbing in Åtvidaberg

An 18-year-old man was sentenced to five years in prison for attempted murder after a knife attack in Åtvidaberg in April. The victim, a 40-year-old man, suffered serious injuries including damage to his lung sac requiring surgery. En 18-årig man döms till fem års fängelse för försök till dråp efter en knivattack i Åtvidaberg i april i år.

Enligt domen ska 18-åringen upprepade gånger ha huggit målsägande, en 40-årig man, med kniv i ryggen och armen. Skadorna har varit allvarliga. Bland annat fick mannen en skada på lungsäcken som ledde till inre blödningar och krävde operation

Tingsrätten bedömer att våldet varit livsfarligt och att gärningsmannen varit likgiltig inför risken att offret skulle dö.

Utöver det femåriga fängelsestraffet ska 18-åringen betala drygt 255 000 kronor i skadestånd till mannen.
