Швеція виділяє $108 млн на підтримку ініціативи PURL, у рамках якої українські партнери закуповують у США зброю для України.
Про це у четвер повідомили у Міноборони Швеції, пише "Європейська правда".
Ці кошти є частиною раніше оголошеного пакету допомоги Україні, підкреслили у міністерстві.
Міністр оборони Пол Йонсон наголосив, що завдяки PURL Україна може швидко отримати доступ до американського оборонного обладнання, що є для неї найпріоритетнішим, зокрема – до сучасних засобів протиповітряної оборони та боєприпасів.
"Це має вирішальне значення для того, щоб Україна могла захищатися від подальших атак Росії. Підтримка Швеції є довгостроковою, всеосяжною та ґрунтується на потребах України", – підкреслив Йонсон.
Це вже вчетверте Швеція виділяє кошти в рамках PURL. З урахуванням нового внеску загальний обсяг підтримки Швеції через PURL становить $543 млн.
Оголошення Швеції пролунало у день зустрічі міністрів оборони країн НАТО, на полях якої Німеччина оголосила, що виділить Україні ще $400 млн на ППО та ракети для Patriot у межах PURL і програми Jumpstart.
Міністр оборони Бельгії Тео Франкен оприлюднив плани постачання винищувачів F-16 до Збройних сил України.
