Maruti's latest SUV has crossed 1 lakh sales milestone.

Maruti Suzuki's newest midsize SUV, the Victoris , has crossed the 1 lakh sales milestone in India, achieving the feat in just over eight months since its launch in September 2025. The SUV reached the landmark in May 2026, underlining its strong acceptance among buyers and emerging as one of the brand's fastest-selling utility vehicles.

The Victoris had already demonstrated strong momentum early in its lifecycle, crossing the 50,000-unit sales mark within five months of launch. Its best monthly performance came in January 2026, when Maruti Suzuki dispatched 15,240 units. During the same month, the SUV accounted for nearly 20 percent of the company's total utility vehicle sales of 75,609 units, making it the third best-selling UV in Maruti's portfolio after the Ertiga and Brezza.

The milestone also highlights the Victoris' strong market performance relative to its sibling, the Grand Vitara. While both SUVs share the same platform and powertrain options, the Grand Vitara took approximately one year to reach the 1 lakh sales mark.

Feature-rich package

The Victoris is positioned as a technology-packed offering in the midsize SUV segment. It comes equipped with a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster and a 10.01-inch SmartPlay Pro X touchscreen infotainment system supporting wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, built-in applications, over-the-air updates and Alexa voice assistance.

Other highlights include a segment-first Infinity by Harman eight-speaker audio system with Dolby Atmos, ventilated front seats, an eight-way powered driver's seat, wireless smartphone charging with active cooling, 64-colour ambient lighting, a powered tailgate with gesture control and Suzuki Connect connected-car technology with more than 60 features.

Multiple powertrain options

The Victoris is offered with three powertrain choices.

The 1.5-litre K-series petrol engine produces 103bhp and 139Nm of torque and can be paired with either a five-speed manual gearbox or a six-speed automatic transmission. Fuel efficiency is rated at 21.18 kmpl for the manual version and 21.06 kmpl for the automatic.

Buyers seeking maximum fuel efficiency can opt for the 1.5-litre strong-hybrid variant, which develops a combined 116bhp and delivers a claimed mileage of 28.65kmpl.

The CNG version produces 87bhp and 121Nm and offers a claimed efficiency of 27.02km/kg. A key highlight is its underbody-mounted CNG tank, which helps preserve boot space.

For customers looking for enhanced capability, Maruti also offers an ALLGRIP Select four-wheel-drive version featuring a six-speed automatic transmission, paddle shifters, multiple terrain modes and Hill Descent Control.

Safety credentials

Safety is another area where the Victoris stands out. The SUV has secured a five-star rating in Bharat NCAP crash tests, scoring 31.66 out of 32 for adult occupant protection and 43 out of 49 for child occupant protection.

Standard safety equipment includes six airbags, electronic stability programme, ABS with EBD, hill hold assist, tyre pressure monitoring system and parking sensors. Higher variants further add Level 2 ADAS features such as adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert and automatic high-beam assist.

Additional safety technologies include a 360-degree HD camera, all-wheel disc brakes and an electronic parking brake with auto hold. The Victoris is backed by Maruti Suzuki's standard three-year/1,00,000km warranty package.
