The police have denied claims that the new acting director of the National Investigative Office (NPU), Borut Franc, submitted a report to the specialized state prosecution regarding the alleged involvement of Rok Snežič in the Dars affair. According to the police, the report was sent on June 12, before Franc took over as acting director. The report was submitted by the previous director, Darko Muženič, who was transferred to the Police Academy on June 22. The Dars affair began in late 2023 after a whistleblower claimed Snežič accepted bribes totaling €90,000 to secure contracts with Dars. At the time, both Snežič and former Dars CEO Valentin Hajdinjak denied the allegations. In April 2024, the NPU launched an investigation into six individuals, including Snežič and former Dars maintenance director Damijan Jaklin, over alleged abuse of position and improper gift exchanges.
