The first accident took place around 10:30 AM on Wednesday in Kocchi. A man riding an electric scooter lost control due to excessive speed and fell, sustaining severe injuries. According to the Ljubljana Police Department, his life is now in danger. He was taken to the hospital via ambulance, and the department has initiated a disciplinary procedure related to the incident. Later that evening, another accident occurred near midnight on the cycling path along Zaloska Street in Ljubljana. Two riders were involved, one of whom was traveling against the direction of traffic on the cycle lane. This led to a collision with the other rider, who was moving in the correct direction. The driver responsible for the crash sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital. His life is also considered to be in danger, according to police statements. The second rider, who was accompanied by a passenger, suffered less severe injuries in the collision. Both were treated at the scene before being transported to the hospital. The police continue to gather information regarding all circumstances surrounding the accident. In addition to these two incidents, the Ljubljana Police Department reported handling 31 traffic accidents within the last 24 hours. Of these, 29 resulted in property damage while two had more severe consequences, one involving an electric scooter and the other an electric bike. These figures highlight the increasing frequency of such incidents involving motorized vehicles. Police officials have reiterated warnings to electric scooter drivers to strictly adhere to traffic rules, including driving in the correct direction and adjusting speed according to road conditions.
