A violent multi-vehicle collision occurred on National Route 14 near General Alvear, Corrientes, Argentina, after a driver attempted to overtake a truck and lost control of his vehicle. The incident resulted in three injured individuals, according to local reports. The accident took place on kilometer 627 of the highway, where a white Renault Logan, driven by a man from Buenos Aires, attempted to pass a truck. At the same time, another large vehicle was traveling in the opposite direction, operated by a Brazilian citizen. The footage captured by the camera installed in the second truck shows the moment the Renault Logan appeared directly in front of the truck during its attempt to overtake. The car scraped against the side of the truck, lost stability, and crossed into the lane, unable to avoid colliding with the other large vehicle. The impact was severe enough to cause one of the trucks to overturn onto the roadside while the Renault Logan skidded off the road and came to rest alongside the shoulder. One notable detail recorded in the video was that one of the Renault’s wheels detached, continued rolling several meters along the asphalt, and eventually ended up beside the road. The driver of the second truck immediately stopped and exited his vehicle to assist the victims. Another large vehicle, which had been traveling ahead, also slowed down to assess the situation and alert authorities. Emergency services arrived shortly afterward, including police officers from Corrientes, specialized traffic accident investigators, medical personnel, and agents from the National Gendarmeria. They set up an operation to provide aid to the injured, manage traffic flow, and conduct necessary investigations. As a result of the crash, three people sustained injuries. One individual required transport to the General Alvear Hospital, where they were placed under observation. The other two received medical attention on-site. According to local media outlet El Once, officials are working to determine precisely how the maneuver that triggered the collision occurred. Authorities have yet to release further details regarding the exact causes of the accident, though initial assessments suggest that the risky overtaking maneuver played a central role. Investigations are ongoing to establish all contributing factors and ensure appropriate measures are taken to prevent similar incidents in the future.
