CCB v Bengaluru razkrinka meddržavno prodajo orožja in aretira nedovoljenega proizvajalca orožja v Madhja Pradešu

A team of police raided the residence and manufacturing unit of Jenzir alias Paapad in Singhana town, Dhar district, Madhya Pradesh, recovering one handmade pistol, four live cartridges, and materials and tools believed to be used in the production of locally made firearms. The operation led to the arrest of the accused, who is alleged to have operated an illegal firearm manufacturing unit from his home since 2012. The Central Crime Branch (CCB) in Bengaluru had previously investigated an Arms Act case registered on February 25, which resulted in the arrest of Imran and two others in May. During interrogations, Imran reportedly revealed that the firearms seized were sourced from Jenzir. Based on this information, a CBB team traveled to Indore, working alongside local police, and apprehended Jenzir on July 13. Jenzir is accused of manufacturing handmade pistols and ammunition, selling them to buyers in Bengaluru and other regions. According to police reports, he allegedly sold locally made weapons for ₹20,000 to local customers and for ₹50,000 to buyers in other states. Investigators stated that Jenzir admitted to producing illegal firearms for profit and distributing them across multiple states. During the raid, authorities found evidence suggesting the scale of his operations, including items directly linked to the manufacture of firearms. The recovered materials and tools indicate that Jenzir's activities extended beyond mere sales, involving the actual production of weapons. This discovery highlights the complexity of the illegal arms trade and its reach into rural areas. The accused was taken before the jurisdictional court and remanded in custody pending further investigations aimed at identifying additional members of the inter-state illegal arms supply network. Police emphasized that the case underscores the need for continued vigilance against organized crime networks engaged in the illicit production and distribution of firearms. The operation reflects the collaborative efforts between state-level law enforcement agencies and the CCB in tackling cross-border criminal activities. It also illustrates how ongoing investigations can lead to the dismantling of long-standing networks. As the probe continues, authorities expect more arrests and the uncovering of further connections within the illegal arms trade.
