He explained that the message was sent on July 6, after the completion of exams and publication of results, to a few students who were asked to share it with their classmates. On July 8, the letter appeared in the newspaper, with edits intended to mislead readers into thinking it was an official school communication. Within 24 hours, Sabbatini and other staff members received a call from the regional education office. The summons did not specify the nature of the investigation, leaving everyone uncertain about its purpose. The invitation merely requested the provision of information useful for the inquiry, without clearly stating the reason for the meeting. This lack of transparency, according to Sabbatini, created an atmosphere of pressure and intimidation. The professor claims that the goal from the start was to reach a disciplinary decision against him. However, he argues that there was no legal basis for this, as he had sent a private message to individuals using his own means, outside institutional channels.
