Incarcerazione per "estremismo" LGBTQ in Russia

A court in Russia’s Orenburg region has sentenced the owner, an employee, and an art director of a 'queer club' to prison terms ranging from two years and three months to seven years. They were accused of organizing and participating in the 'extremist international LGBT civil movement and its affiliated organizations,' which have been labeled as extremist since 2023. The court stated that the defendants continued their activities despite knowing the LGBTQ movement was classified as extremist. The verdict marks the first such conviction under this legal framework. All three defendants did not admit guilt, and the sentences are not yet final.
