Slovenian athlete Kristjan Ceh finished second in the discus throw at the Diamond League meeting in Chorzow, Poland, behind Lithuanian competitor Mykolas Alekna. Alekna's winning distance was 72.58 meters, while Ceh achieved his best throw of 68.93 meters. The competition took place on August 23, 2026, at 18:50 local time. Jamaican sprinter Oblique Seville claimed the fastest time in the 100 meters with 9.83 seconds, while Dominican athlete Marileidy Paulino ran under 49 seconds in the 400 meters with a time of 48.87. Ethiopian athlete Gemechu Godana set a new meet record in the 3000 meters steeplechase with a time of 8:02.74, narrowly eclipsing Moroccan Soufiane El Bakkali, who had previously held the fastest time of the year. In the women’s triple jump, Saly Sarr broke the national record by jumping 15.08 meters, the only athlete to surpass the 15-meter mark. Ukrainian jumper Jaroslava Mahuchikh cleared exactly 200 centimeters in the high jump, showcasing her precision and skill.
